Premium Utilization
A Sum of rupees Rs. 80.60 Lakhs has been received, by Anandi Farmers Association Palamedu from Anandi Enterprises – Tirupur Till Mar-2021. The following development activities have been implemented by Anandi Farmers Association Palamedu, Utilising Fair-trade premium with the support of Anandi Enterprises, Tirupur.

Providing Hearing Aids
Anandhi Texstyles & Anandi Farmers Association has provided free hearing aids to 25 disabled Deaf people involving Rs.1.15 Lakhs as a subsidy from FairTrade Premium Amount. All Categories of people Male, Female, Children, and Producers and Labourers have Benefited under this Program this Noble Activity Amounts to Social Development.
Plants for Providing Potable Water to School Children
R.O.Units have been Installed in six Schools at a cost of Rs.1.13 lakhs from Fair Trade Premium. Potable Water has been Provided to School Shildren for their Better Health.
Battery Sprayers
An Innovative Practice of using battery sprayers has been Introduced in our project area as it’s an excellent tool for farmers that don’t require petrol. There’s no smoke emission with effective crop coverage. It is lightweight at a reasonable cost. We have distributed them at a subsidized cost of Rs.9.30 lakhs to 325 Farmers from the Fair Trade Premium Amount.
Planting Lime Seedlings
1000s of lime fruit seedlings have been distributed to each household including labour colonies at a cost of Rs.87,160. Lime trees will fetch some Income to the people concerned every year. Lime fruits can be used for various preparations that will be helpful for human health.

Distribution of masks to the farmers and their community during the pandemic to take up precautionary measures against COVID-19. Approximately 2000 masks were provided at Rs. 1.63 lakhs.

Small Power Weeder
The power weeder is a new-generation soil machine with unique user-friendly features that are used after plantation to eradicate weeds. To reduce the need for manual labour and to automate the process of weed control, 3 power weeders have been bought to cover 3 villages at Rs.2,55,000. Power weeders help in controlling and removing weeds effectively and efficiently.
Calendars
As a part of a promotional package to bring in more awareness about Fairtrade and organic farming, 2024 daily calendars were distributed to every member of the Anandi Farmers Association – Pitchampalayam. It was distributed to the 1000 farmers of the society at Rs.61,360.

Weeders, Chainsaws and Augers
9 weeders, 2 chainsaws and 3 augers were bought at Rs.2,01,000 by the farmers of Anandi Farmers Association – Pitchampalayam. Weeders help in soil levelling, weeding ridge formation and also to mow dense grass. Chainsaws are used for pruning, trimming and cutting trees. Auger is a device that is used to drill the soil for tree planting purposes.
Seeder
9 seeders were bought at Rs.72,000 to help in sowing the seeds. They help in placing the seeds at the desired depths by maintaining the desired row spacing and inter-row distance.
Distribution of Surabhi & Suraj Variety Cotton Seeds to the Project Farmers
Every year about 3 to 5 M.T of organic cotton seeds are distributed at 50% subsidized price to the producers of our Fair Trade Project. The seeds are produced by our company, with Tamil Nadu Govt Certification & Distributed to the farmers. Seeds are not treated with chemicals but only cow dung slurry treatment is carried at the end for good germination & seedling vigour. The seeds distributed are the only varieties with long staple & extra-long staple. Our producers are very happy about the performance & yield of the crop with our quality seeds & our development activities. The concept of ECO friendliness is achieved by the introduction of innovative battery sprayers & organic variety of cotton seeds, which is one of the main concepts of Fair Trade.
